About Us

Husker Hoops Central has been the source for Nebraska Basketball fans since the day it launched. It all began with HHC breaking the release of the Nebraska schedule on August 1st, 2005. Since then, HHC has made it's name by being the best and most reliable place for Husker news and coverage on the web.

At HHC we pride ourselves on being the source for all Husker information both past and present. We feature interviews with former players in our "Then & Now" series in which we've caught up with former Huskers from the 1940s through the start of the 21st century.  From coaches such as Danny Nee and Moe Iba to players you'll never forget like Eric Piatkowski, Bus Whitehead, Stu Lantz, and Rich King to players you may not remember so well, Jose Ramos, Gerard Myrthil and Fred Hecox to name a few.

By assembling a staff comprised of former players and knowledgeable media professionals, Husker Hoops Central is able to provide a unique game-experienced analysis in a format that every fan of this great program can enjoy. On top of this, many of the biggest names in college basketball have been featured on HHC giving their opinion of Husker Hoops. These names include Dave Armstrong (ESPN commentator), Scott Smith (Street and Smith Magazine co-editor), Greg Doyel (CBS Sportsline college basketball writer), and even Jay Bilas (Former Duke player and ESPN national college basketball analyst.)

HHC was the first to break the story of Barry Collier's interest in the Butler job and continued to break each and every story through the series of events that lead to Collier's hiring as Athletic Director at Butler. HHC was mentioned as the source for these reports on KETV (Omaha TV), WOWT (Omaha TV), KLKN (Lincoln TV), The Average Joe Sports Show (Lincoln Radio), Sports Nightly (Statewide Syndicated Radio), Big Sports 590 (Omaha Radio), ESPN 1620 (Omaha Radio), and the Lawrence Journal-World (Lawrence, KS Newspaper).

In addition to these outlets, HHC has also been featured on the Greg Swaim Radio Show (Nationally recognized internet-radio show), in the Lincoln Journal-Star, the Omaha World-Herald, and the Albuquerque (NM) Tribune. For the 2006-07 season, HHC was privileged to collaborate with Big Red Report magazine to put together it's annual basketball preview issue. Husker Hoops Central assisted with preview articles in the magazine and continues to look for ways to work with other media outlets and community businesses to better promote Nebraska Basketball across the state and across the nation. If you are interested in collaborating on a project or advertising on our site, please contact Dave Brandon at the e-mail address listed below.

Thank you for visting our site and for making us the best place to get your Husker Hoops fix. It is because of you, our reader, that we feel confident in proclaiming ourselves "The #1 Source for Nebraska Basketball Fans!" Go Big Red!
